My job shadow experience was at Kiddie Academy of Horsham. It is a day care center. My mentor was Mrs. Dana Levatino. She teaches in the 4-year old room. While I was there, I read stories to the children. I also helped the children with their Thanksgiving dance. I colored with the children. I even helped Mrs. Levatino with a student that was being very difficult.
I learned a lot during my job shadow experience at Kiddie Academy. What I learned is that working with children is difficult to do, but you have to be patient. Working with challenging children is not easy at all and you have to sit them down and talk to them. This experience helped me out because I realize that I still want to work with children in a daycare center.
